KOMM, SUßER TOD (COME, SWEET DEATH

A sound installation created in collaboration with black metal vocalist Gaahl (Kristian Eivind Espedal), known from bands such as Gorgoroth, God Seed, and Wardruna. In the piece, he sings/growls a choral composition by J. S. Bach titled Komm, süßer Tod (Come Sweet Death). It deals with the freedom found in death. In this project, I have highlighted the similarities between Baroque and black metal, both in terms of pathos, death romanticism, and musical ornamentation.
